Chapter i, Page ii: Preface

October 15, 2013

As of today, I am not a very experienced Wiccan.
I'm young. I live at home, so I have to keep celebrations at a very low key.
I procrastinate like mad, so I have trouble with long-term projects like infusing herbs.
I picked up the craft in 2010 and only officially came out last year.
In short, I am not really qualified to teach people, even if it's through a blog; or, at least, that's what I thought when the idea first came to me.
The truth is that, in spite of all these things, I am a human being trying to make sense of life just like the rest of you. I have just as much to say as anyone else and, while I may not remember every use for rue, I think that other people might like to listen.

I have already started a blog for my every-day life experiences as a Wiccan (ladyelk.blogspot.com) and, while I have struggled to keep up with it in the past, it has had a positive impact upon my life. It's somewhere that I can speak about my beliefs candidly and without fear of prejudice.
However, that format tends to be very informal (especially when I post late at night) and I wanted a place exclusively for spells, rituals, and other craft information. I wanted to make a Book of Shadows- not any Book of Shadows, though. This one would be a constantly-evolving piece of art that people could access for free. It would be open and collaborative, reaching people across the world. It would be frank and unafraid to admit it's limited knowledge, taking the opportunity to expand upon it instead. Most importantly though, this book would be told from the perspective of a beginner.

So, without further explanation, I give you Lady Gwen's Argentum Notebook.
